Juventus striker Moise Kean has revealed how Aston Villa midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo once got him in trouble for laughing about being late to a team meeting.

The Italian has been speaking to DAZN Heroes, relayed by Calciomercato, about his career so far and some of the incidents in it.

One of the biggest, most controversial moments came in 2019 when he was kicked out of the Italy U21 squad by manager Luigi Di Biagio alongside Aston Villa’s Nicolo Zaniolo after they repeatedly broke team rules.

Reports at the time indicated that the pair had been excluded from the team for a crunch clash with Belgium after they turned up late for a team meeting.

The pair were known to room together for the international group and reports afterwards continued to label them as troublemakers, with Di Biagio criticising them on several occasions in public.

It’s a reputation that has continued to follow the pair in their career since, something Kean doesn’t seem so happy about, as he blames the entire incident on the Aston Villa man.

“I was with Zaniolo, he played loud music, we played play and at 11 there was a meeting,” he said.

“At 10.58 we were still there; we waited a long time for the lift, and we arrived at 11.05am. Mister Di Biagio said it wasn’t good. And I said: ‘Sorry mister, we were late.’ I apologised to the team while it made Nicolo laugh, I looked at him and said, ‘What you laughing at?’

“They put me out because I didn’t yet know how to be among others. They put me to help the warehouse workers, to clean the changing rooms to make me understand.”
