Thomas Tuchel is one of the candidates pushed forward as a potential replacement for Ronald Koeman at Everton.
The claims started in the English media, and a quick glance at the odds shows Tuchel is currently third favourite, but those odds have been changing so quickly the market seems to respond to any bet placed of more than £20.
Over in Germany, they’re not rubbishing the idea completely, and SportBild have covered English claims of Everton interest in both Tuchel and Carlo Ancelotti.
Going a step further, the German media outlet have contacted Tuchel’s agent Olaf Meinking, who told them: “We’ll do the same as in the past, and also in the future: We won’t comment on rumours.”
That ‘no comment’ isn’t such a bad reply. Meinking could have completely ruled out the possibility, sending a message to Everton not to bother if they’re considering making contact.
SportBild believe with the Bayern Munich job still on the horizon, with Tuchel potentially taking over from Jupp Heynckes in the summer, Everton’s chances would be slim. For the Premier League club to stand a chance, Tuchel needs to have some doubt the Bayern job is all his.
