Everton failed to sign Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze in the winter market.

Two days ago, reports from Spain stated the winger was ‘very close’ to joining the Toffees in January. It was also explained he was one step away from joining Everton on loan with a mandatory purchase option of €45m.

Radio Marca presenter Pedro Pablo Parrado now states the 23-year-old could move to the Premier League in the summer, where Everton care in the mix to sign him.

The Nigeria international has managed 13 goals and 11 assists from 40 games this season and that includes a brace in the Yellow Submarine’s 3-2 win over Real Madrid last weekend.

According to Parrado, Florentino Pérez liked Chukwueze’s displays and his side are looking at him for the next window. There was an informal meeting between Los Blancos chief and Villarreal president Fernando Roig about the attacker.

Parrado also claims the Premier League could ‘tempt’ the attacker again after Everton’s failed efforts in January.

“Half the Premier League loved him, the latest one was Everton,” the Radio Marca presenter said.

Chukwueze’s contract expires in 2024 and includes a €100m release clause. Villarreal don’t intend to part ways with him but could consider his sale in the summer if there’s a ‘succulent offer’ of around €50m.

It needs to be seen if Everton, Real Madrid or another club would make a proposal for the player after this season.
