On August 22nd, Diario de Sevilla reported Real Betis vice-chairman Lorenzo Serra Ferrer had submitted an ‘important offer’ to Manchester City in signing Oleksandr Zinchenko.
The same day, Mundo Deportivo claimed the Premier League club has turned down a €12m bid from the Los Verdiblancos for the Ukrainian international.
Now, Mundo has a story on their website and they claim the La Liga outfit has made a formal offer to the English champions to land the versatile player, who can play as a midfielder and on the left side of the defence.
Betis have asked Pep Guardiola’s side to take Zinchenko on a season-long loan deal and have an option or obligation to sign him on a permanent transfer for €12m. In addition to this, they want the transfer fee to be paid in three instalments.
The former PSV Eindhoven man’s agent has been in Seville for several days and has already negotiated a contract with Betis for his client.
Quique Setién’s side now remain hopeful that City will accept their proposal for their player.
