If France Football are to be believed, Leicester City are preparing a €35m bid for Getafe centre-back Djené Dakonam.
The Togolese defender, who has played 31 times for his country, has become a person of interest for the Foxes after Manchester United’s recent approach for Harry Maguire.
While Claude Puel’s side aren’t exactly thrilled at the idea of selling another one of their star men, and aren’t interested in a £65m offer for the time being, failing to prepare for an unlikely departure would be a rookie error.
According to the French outlet, Dakonam has become a ‘priority’ for Leicester City, and contact has already been established between them and the La Liga side.
Tottenham and West Ham are also briefly mentioned as potential competition, with the former planning in case of a Toby Alderweireld exit, while the Hammers are still on the lookout for another centre-back, with Lyon’s Marcelo high on their list.
The 26-year-old was one of the big surprises of last season following his £2.25m transfer from Sint-Truiden, and it looks like the Spanish club could make a huge profit in just over a year.
