Ever since Ousmane Dembele joined Barcelona, there’s been rumours about him leaving.
For various reasons, including a string of injuries, the Frenchman has struggled to hit the heights which were expected when Barca paid so much money to Borussia Dortmund for him.
Sunday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo focuses on Liverpool interest, with it being claimed the Reds have returned to the potential signing, having been interested on repeat occasions before.
Jurgen Klopp ‘loves’ Dembele, and if Liverpool fail with their attempts to sign Timo Werner, then they’d go for the Barca player instead. They’re clearly different types of attacker, but the idea is that Klopp wants to strengthen upfront in some way, and try and get the Champions League trophy back next season.
Barcelona have an ‘overbooking’ situation in attack, meaning they have too many options, so a transfer is possible. Mundo don’t explain it, yet it’s been reported previously that a good deal could be available for interested clubs.
A loan move with a purchase option could tempt Barcelona, especially as they need to get some wages off their books and make room in the squad.
