Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is ‘very interested’ in Salzburg star Karim Adeyemi, whose future should be decided by Easter.

That’s according to BILD, who provide the latest update on the young star’s future ahead of what should be a busy summer for him.

Adeyemi is one of the hottest prospects in Europe, having scored 19 goals in 36 games for the Austrian side this season.

Three of those goals came in eight games in the Champions League, with the youngster taking advantage of his opportunity on the big stage.

Liverpool have long been established as admirers, and BILD confirm as much, stating that their interest actually comes via Klopp, who is said to be ‘very interested’ in the forward.

If he wants to get his man, though, he will have to beat former club Borussia Dortmund to his signature.

The newspaper explains that they are the favourites for Adeyemi, but Salzburg are getting bored of waiting and now want things dealt with.

The deal has been ‘stalled for weeks’ because of a ‘tough transfer fee poker game’ between the two clubs over Salzburg’s €45m asking price.

That’s a fee Dortmund don’t want to pay, even if they are set to be flush from the sale of Erling Haaland, but Salzburg aren’t interested in that and have set a deadline of Easter for the deal to be finalised.

They want things tied up between 15th-18th April, and if there is no agreement, Salzburg’s bosses will deal with other potential suitors, with Liverpool likely to be among them.

Thus, Adeyemi’s future should become clear in the next few weeks.

He wants the move to Dortmund, and they want him, but Salzburg will play hardball if things don’t proceed as they want them to.

That could work in Liverpool’s favour and give them the chance of signing a player Klopp is seemingly very keen to have in his squad.
