As the Marcos Rojo saga goes on, Argentine outlet TyC Sports now reports that a ‘key meeting’ for his future should be held soon.

They claim that Boca Juniors will speak to the defender’s agent ‘in the coming days’ so they can sort out his arrival at the Buenos Aires side. The meeting is expected to happen outside of Argentina, although no reason is given for that.

Marcos Rojo has a contract with Manchester United running until the summer, and is currently working to rescind it in order to be able to move as a free agent.

TyC Sports writes that Boca Juniors want the player to sign a three-year contract in February. That’s probably a sign that he’d have no problems moving after the January window closes.

It’s been a long time since Marcos Rojo last featured for Manchester United.

The defender was loaned out to Argentine side Estudiantes in January 2020, and despite returning to Old Trafford in the summer, he was never used by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer again.

Besides Boca Juniors, other clubs such as Cruz Azul and Estudiantes are also reportedly interested his signing.
