It’s a very bright time for Liverpool fans.

With a big knot of nerves in the stomach, supporters of the Merseyside club will be looking forward to the Champions League final against Real Madrid on Saturday night.

Football matches don’t come any bigger, and there’s a huge optimism for the future under manager Jurgen Klopp.

Next season a better shot at the Premier League title will be hoped for and expected, and as part of that the club have already secured Naby Keita from RB Leipzig.

Klopp wanted Keita at Liverpool last summer, and there were efforts to bring the deal forward in the January window, but RB Leipzig stayed strong and kept the midfielder.

Ralph Hasenhüttl was the manager of the club up until a few days ago, and he’s been speaking to Bild.

Asked by the German newspaper about Keita’s impending transfer to Liverpool, he said: “He joins a crazy team. But, if I’m not scared of a player getting through in any club in the world, it’s Naby.

“Because he’s just so good. And a professional through and through, he lives football. Jurgen will be grateful for this signing, even if he wins the Champions League.”

That’s a nice endorsement for Keita, and another reason for Liverpool fans to feel optimistic about what the future holds.
