It was claimed more than once that Liverpool tried to sign Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic during the summer transfer window, but the Bundesliga side were reluctant to let him go.
The Merseyside club offered €12m for the services of the American international, but that clearly wasn’t enough to convince Borussia Dortmund to sell him.
Reports in the Liverpool Echo then claimed Jurgen Klopp would continue to monitor the progress of the 18-year-old, and could try again next summer.
However, it now appears they might have some serious competition to beat. According to Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are keeping close tabs on Pulisic.
Liverpool have plenty of attacking options at the club, but Jurgen Klopp might want to make additions to his squad next summer should they qualify for any European competition.
Pulisic has started the season strongly at Borussia Dortmund, and has four assists and one goal to his name in 8 appearances.
