On Monday, Tuttosport reported Arsenal are considering signing Juventus’ Dušan Vlahović and that his sale can help the Turin club collect a ‘large amount of money’.
The north London club are keen on bolstering their attack and the 24-year-old is one of the main targets for them.
Journalist and Juve expert Mirko Di Natale talked about Arsenal’s interest in the striker during TV Play’s Ti Amo Calciomercato, relayed by Calciomercato.it.
The Serbia international’s deal lasts until 2026 and he claims the Serie A side’s aim is to offer him a one-year extension with a lower salary.
Di Natale adds Juve technical director Cristiano Giuntoli is leading the negotiations and the player’s desire is to continue with the Turin club. There’s been contacts between the parties, while Arsenal continue to be in the picture to sign him.
“I know that the contacts are positive and there are good chances of a conclusion like for Vlahović, for whom Arsenal are showing strong interest from England. Juve and Vlahović will have to find an agreement and ensure that both parties are satisfied,” he said.
If Vlahović doesn’t sign an extension quickly, Juve will have to make him available in the transfer market.
“If they don’t reach an agreement within the summer window, Vlahović can enter Juve’s transfer window and ensure that he can be one of those exits that Giuntoli has in mind this summer,” Di Natale explained.
If this were to happen, Mikel Arteta’s side would have a chance to sign him in the summer window.
Arsenal’s interest in the Serbian isn’t new as they were keen on signing him before he joined the Old Lady from Fiorentina in January 2022. Earlier this year, TV Play stated Mikel Arteta is still keen and has never hidden his desire to sign the frontman for the Gunners.
