Having secured another loan move away from Tottenham in the summer, it seems things are not going well for Tanguy Ndombele at Napoli.

The midfielder was looking to reinvent himself in Italy following a disastrous few years at Spurs and an unsuccessful loan spell at former club Lyon last season.

There was initial optimism about the move but that has quickly died away in recent weeks, with Ndombele facing plenty of criticism.

The problems that he faced at Tottenham have followed him to Naples, with it even stated that manager Luciano Spalletti needs a miracle to get the best out of him.

That is yet to happen, and his poor form continued in Napoli’s 1-0 win over Spezia at the weekend, a game in which he started but was hauled off after 46 minutes in favour of Stanislav Lobotka.

That’s led to more criticism of the Tottenham man and journalist Paolo Del Genio believes a decision has to be made.

“I want to return to the Napoli-Spezia match to say that on the performance side there are undoubtedly things to review,” Area Napoli report him saying.

“Some choices that did not convince us, one in particular and I refer to the new signing Ndombele.

“This guy who arrives from Tottenham must play either the final half-hour or he must be put together with the starters, not with 3-4 second lines. And I think coach Luciano Spalletti agrees with this.”
