Club Brugge striker Charles de Ketelaere is right to snub a move to Leeds United this summer because he’ll be better off at AC Milan.

That’s according to journalist Filip Joos, who believes the Italian side are a better prospect for the highly-rated forward.

De Ketelaere has been heavily linked with a move away from Brugge this summer, with AC Milan and Leeds in the running for his signature.

At this moment in time, it is the Italian side who are leading the race and pushing to try and get a deal over the line.

Talks with Brugge have been ongoing for several weeks, although the two sides are yet to reach a final agreement.

Leeds remain in the background, having made a bid for the striker but been made very aware that De Ketelaere would prefer a move to Milan. And, as far as Joos is concerned, that’s a smart decision for the striker to make.

“Milan wants to do things very cleanly financially,” he told Sporza, relayed by Voetbal Primeur.

“It is a club that has imposed a number of restrictions on itself, with a sort of salary cap, but also a ceiling in terms of financial management that they do not want to exceed.

“I think Club Brugge and De Ketelaere have found each other in a departure. The big problem is that De Ketelaere wants to go to a club that is willing to pay a little less.

“I understand why he wants to go to Milan. That team is boss in many matches and he thrives in that. At Leeds or Everton, it’s different.

“There you have to wait and see how often you will have the ball. Trying to force a departure is not an ideal solution, but I think it will work out.”
