West Ham United are keeping tabs on Galatasaray star Kerem Aktürkoğlu, according to journalist Haldun Domaç.
He claims the Hammers have identified the winger as a target to potentially replace Jarrod Bowen and his comments are relayed by Habersarikirmizi.com, a site dedicating it’s coverage to the Istanbul club.
Domaç states West Ham are keen on the 24-year-old Turkey international and have joined other clubs in the transfer chase.
“West Ham clearly want Kerem Aktürkoğlu. It is even said that Jarrod Bowen will go to Liverpool to replace Mohamed Salah and Aktürkoğlu will go to West Ham instead,” he said.
On Sunday, the England international committed his long-term future to David Moyes’ side by signing a new deal until 2030, and that should rule out his potential exit for the time being.
There’s a possibility that Domaç made this claim about West Ham a few hours before their star’s renewal was made official.
In addition to this, Aktürkoğlu cannot be viewed as a potential candidate to replace Bowen because the former prefers to operate on the left wing while David Moyes has mainly used Bowen on the right wing. Therefore, we suggest to take Domaç’s claim – at least the Bowen bit – with a pinch of salt.
The Galatasaray star has scored five goals and registered seven assists from 16 games and Bowen has five goals and two assists from nine games this season.
