At this time of year, as transfer claims really get going ahead of the summer window, there’s always old claims which are brought back… with an insistence that this time is may be different.
And very specifically on that note, there’s now claims from Italy that Adrien Rabiot could join Manchester United if he decides to leave Juventus at the end of this season.
That’s according to Paolo Paganini, and he made this claim to 90° Minuto, relayed by Tutto Juve.
Four days ago, Calciomercato explained that Manchester United have initiated contact to sign the 28-year-old in the summer.
The midfielder’s deal expires in June and at the weekend he made it clear that his aim is to help the Old Lady return to the Champions League. He also said there will be time to talk about his future after this season.
Last June, the France international signed for one more year, and Paganini claims Massimiliano Allegri was the main reason for that.
The manager’s future with the Serie A side beyond this season remains uncertain, and there’s been claims of Bologna manager Thiago Motta replacing him.
In the event Juve part ways with Allegri, the journalist believes the former Paris Saint-Germain man could accept Manchester United’s offer.
“For Rabiot there is a peculiarity. Rabiot remained at Juventus for Allegri last year, if Allegri were confirmed then there is a good chance that Rabiot will renew his contract. Otherwise, if Allegri leaves, he’s more inclined to accept other offers such as that of Manchester United,” he said.
The Frenchman has scored four goals and registered three assists from 28 games this season.
