Friday will go down in transfer history as one of the craziest days in a window.
In the morning it was thought Cristiano Ronaldo would be signing for Manchester City, as had been the case for a couple of days. Quickly, it started to become clear that Manchester United had moved into the picture for the transfer.
By the time Ronaldo touched down in Lisbon, a return to Old Trafford looked nailed on, and Manchester United soon announced an agreement had been reached for the transfer.
Without doubt the biggest story in football right now, countless people have been asked for their opinion on the switch. Jose Mourinho is of course one of those, and he sounds happy for all those involved, one of whom is Jorge Mendes, his agent.
The AS Roma manager spoke at a press conference on Saturday, and O Jogo quote him as saying: “What I can say is basic, it’s logical. If Juventus are happy, if Ronaldo is happy and Manchester United are happy, then it’s a perfect deal.
“There is no need to talk about Ronaldo. He has written history for the last 20 years. I have nothing more to comment.”
Manchester United supporters are now waiting for the player to arrive in England, and for the club to present him, once again in the strip of the Red Devils.
