Back in January, Le10 Sport came out with the news that Newcastle and West Brom were after Troyes winger Samuel Grandsir.
While the Ligue 1 side are fighting for relegation, the 21-year-old has enjoyed a fairly good season in the top flight, showcasing his talent down the right-hand side.
This led to both the Magpies and the Baggies allegedly making €13m bids for Grandsir, only to see them rejected as the French club didn’t particularly want to lose their star midway through the season.
With the summer transfer window just around the corner, other clubs have also started knocking on Troyes’ door, just in case they get relegated, among which are Marseille.
The same outlet, on Thursday, state the current Europa League semi-finalists are ready to go all in on Grandsir, with early talks already taking place.
However, AS Monaco and Nice are also studying the young forward’s situation, meaning even more competition for Newcastle and West Brom.
That being said, with Darren Moore’s side on course for the Championship, it seems Rafa Benitez might have the upper hand here were he to renew his interest in the coming weeks.
