France Football have a transfer special in their magazine this week and it’s no surprise that Nicolas Pepe plays a big part in it.

Saying there’s a ‘jackpot incoming’ for Lille, it’s explained that a January move isn’t on the agenda, because he could get the club Champions League football. After that, transfer games begin.

Several clubs tried to sign the player last summer, but Lille stood firm and will be glad they did. Whereas once Premier League interest came from clubs like Watford, Southampton and Newcastle, now the player is attracting the ‘cream’ of English football.

The magazine goes on to state: ‘Chelsea, Tottenham and especially Arsenal are the most fervent courtiers.’

It’s Tottenham and Arsenal who have been linked the most out of those clubs in recent months, and this could be a North London transfer tussle in the making.

For Lille to listen to offers, it’s thought they’re going to have to exceed €60m.

The 23 year old right sided attacker has eleven goals and five assists in 17 Ligue 1 matches so far this season, and is a big reason the club are currently second.
