Today is one of the days when it’s really funny reading both the Manchester and the Turin media, as each local press different things to say about Paul Pogba.
Although José Mourinho is clearly not a fan favourite at the moment, Manchester United fans nearly all agree that Paul Pogba hasn’t been very good, and isn’t nearly worth all that money paid for him in 2016.
Meanwhile, newspaper Tuttosport continue to encourage Juventus’ efforts to get the Frenchman, and today they only have good news about a possible transfer.
The first thing is about Pogba’s relationship with José Mourinho. The newspaper takes United’s match against Liverpool to show how bad things stand, saying it’s the ‘bloodiest confrontation’ between manager and player at the club, and comparing to Sir Alex Ferguson’s final days with David Beckham.
But has Pogba been that poor? Not for Tuttosport.
They take a bunch of stats to show he’s actually the best player in the team, and when there’s a bad number, which is the case with his ball losses, they say it’s because he needs to be decisive and therefore takes more risks.
There’s also a part for Paul Pogba’s price. It’s said that although Manchester United paid €105m for him, he should now be worth €50m, and maybe as little as €40m in the summer. But the Red Devils won’t let him leave for only that, so he would cost €70m, an amount which José Mourinho could splash in the January market.
