All sports newspapers in Europe have pages about José Mourinho’s departure from Manchester United this week, and although most of them just want to recall the manager’s time at the club, Tuttosport focus on the future.
With a headline mentioning Antonio Conte, and the club’s ‘contact with the former manager’, it does sound like they have a big exclusive on the Red Devils following the former Chelsea boss.
Tuttosport brings all the rumours around the next Man United boss, and as the story was written on Tuesday night, it still had doubts about who the interim manager would be.
Then they take a bunch of names who could be appointed in the summer, in a list which included Zinedine Zidane, Mauricio Pochettino and Antonio Conte.
In a very short affirmation with no details, Tuttosport claims that ‘contact has been made’ for Conte.
They quickly change subject saying he’s rejected a job at Boca Juniors, and then say that in United’s case, the most important thing is who will be running the club until the summer, in terms of scouting, recruiting and taking care of football.
The story sounds like Tuttosport being Tuttosport and calling Juventus fans to read an article which has nothing to do with them. So let’s see if Conte’s name gains any strength in the next few months.
