Everton represent the most ‘credible option’ for Inter Milan midfielder Matías Vecino this month.

That’s according to FC Inter News, who report that the Premier League club remain keen on signing the central midfielder in this window.

Vecino has been linked with a move away this month after falling down the pecking order under Antonio Conte.

Everton are known admirers, with Carlo Ancelotti looking to add to his squad, and being heavily linked with a move.

They were thought to be at the front of the queue for his signature and according to FC Inter News, that is the case.

The Blues are the most ‘credible option’ for Vecino as the possibility of the player being included as part of the deal to bring Christian Eriksen from Tottenham is nil.

Inter are happy to sell and are said to be waiting for an ‘official proposal’ of between €18-20m to arrive ‘shortly’.

That’s the asking price Inter have set on their man, and made that clear to interested parties, although whether Everton would be willing to pay that is debatable.

They are the ‘rapidly evolving track’ according to the website, though, with his other suitors, namely Sevilla and Fiorentina, having only requested information at this stage.
