With Chelsea being expected to announce to signing of Maurizio Sarri at any time now, Italian newspaper Tuttosport has a story about the manager’s arrival today.
With Tuttosport being Tuttosport, they obviously relate the news to some transfer rumours. That’s why the possible arrivals of Jorginho, Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani are all mentioned in the story.
But there are still a couple of takes that are pretty interesting to read. One of them is their view on Antonio Conte, who’s leaving the club after two years.
The newspaper points out that there should be thanks for the ‘elegance’ which Conte has been displaying in the past few months. Even on the verge of being sacked, the manager ‘silently accepted’ Chelsea’s ’embarrassing’ attitude towards him.
The outlet also brings a few words on the arrival of Gianfranco Zola and the role he is expected to have at the club.
Tuttosport claims the Chelsea legend should be more than just a staff member to Sarri. He’ll be the man that will run communication between the manager and Marina Granovskaja. In the newspaper’s own words, he could be a type of ‘technical director’, ‘like Michael Emenalo’.
