As website FC Inter News brings some updates on Mateo Kovacic’s situation today, they cool down the rumours which have been linking the player to Inter Milan.
The outlet claims that the player’s entourage was caught by surprise when Chelsea were banned from making signings in the summer, as it seemed pretty sure they would sign him permanently from Real Madrid.
After the decision, Kovacic’s agents went looking for new clubs, since Zinedine Zidane is unlikely to give him a new chance at the Santiago Bernabeu.
That’s when Kovacic was offered to both Bayern Munich and Inter Milan. The quickest response came from Italy, and it wasn’t the best.
FC Inter News says the Nerazzurri don’t really have Kovacic as a priority target at the moment, and will turn their attention to other players for now. Both Inter and Bayern’s responses as described as ‘lukewarm’.
So it looks like the midfielder’s agents will have to keep looking for a destination for the next season, or hope Chelsea get a reprieve.
