There hasn’t been a great deal in the German media on Manchester United interest in Jadon Sancho.

It’s been the English sport media leading with the claims, and it would appear there’s no story to tell yet in Germany.

Whilst Manchester United interest may well be genuine, the lack of a German slant would likely be because Borussia Dortmund are also in the dark at this stage, themselves only hearing what is reported.

But Bild want to get a piece of the action, so today they have an article titled ‘Will Sancho go to Man United?’

They take claims from England that Manchester United have recently held a meeting with the player’s representative Emeka Obasi.

Bild contacted Obasi, and couldn’t get a comment on the matter.

Dortmund’s Michael Zorc was, as always, happy to speak to Bild, and said: “I have no knowledge of it, but it has no relevance!”

The German newspaper say what Zorc means is that it doesn’t matter what anybody else does, Sancho has a contract until 2022, without a buyout clause, so all the power is with Dortmund.

Should the transfer happen, Bild say it ‘will probably be the most expensive in the history of the Bundesliga’. That record currently stands at €148m, for Ousmane Dembele’s move to Barcelona, and it’s stated Sancho could ‘crack’ it.

All of that said, there’s still no real line on this Germany, no offer been made, and also, judging by the reports and comments from BVB, no contact between the clubs.

But the clear message being sent out is that if Manchester United want to make the signing this summer, then it’s going to have to be a record breaker.
