There are thirteen days until Napoli face Arsenal in London in the quarterfinals of the Europa League, and then a week after that is the second leg of the UEFA tie in Italy.
The last thing either club wants right now is injury problems with key players.
The international break was enough of a worry for both Arsenal and Napoli, and now the Serie A club have picked up a problem immediately afterwards.
CalcioNapoli24 are reporting that Lorenzo Insigne, one of Carlo Ancelotti’s key players at the Naples club, pulled up in training on Friday.
He had to leave the session early, with the initial reports stating the reason is a ‘muscle contraction in the adductor of the right thigh’.
Napoli face AS Roma away on Sunday, which is the most immediate concern for Ancelotti.
Insigne has thirteen goals and six assists so far this season, so Unai Emery wouldn’t be too disappointed if the Italian’s injury means he’s doubtful for the match again Arsenal.
