Corriere dello Sport on Friday are really keen to bring back from the dead certain stories.
After an attempt to revive the Carlos Bacca to West Ham rumours, we’re back to having Marcelo Brozovic as a target for Arsenal in the Premier League.
The Croatian midfielder, according to the Italian newspaper, is very unlikely to remain at Inter Milan for the coming season, and the Serie A club are looking to sell him abroad, as a move within Italy would only reinforce their rivals.
Of course, the ideal place to link him to is the Premier League, with their money and all that, and while Tottenham aren’t really part of the equation anymore, Arsenal supposedly are.
The reason for that? Arsène Wenger said he’s prepared to spend the money they have.
That would be splendid, of course, were it not for the fact Arsenal aren’t exactly in need of another midfielder, with a new centre-back and a new striker bigger priorities right now.
The idea behind all of this would be for the money received from a Brozovic transfer going towards the arrival of Joao Mario from Sporting CP, but it doesn’t seem like many Premier League clubs are actually after the Croatian starlet right now.
There’s always January…
