Juventus are considering paying to sign Moise Kean from Everton early as they seek a partner for January signing Dusan Vlahovic.
Yesterday we covered a report from Italy that stated Juventus were planning something with Kean this summer after being unimpressed with his performances this season.
He’s currently on a two-year loan from Everton, with Juventus obligated to pay €28m to make the move permanent next summer.
The report, though, indicated that they were planning to either loan or sell the striker this summer and look for an experienced player to replace him.
Now, this made little sense as given Kean was on loan, they would either have to pay the remaining €32m in loan fees or work out a deal with Everton before they could ship him out.
The latter would surely be impossible as common sense dictates Everton would just demand the €32m they’ve guaranteed themselves in the current loan deal.
It seems, though, Juventus’ plan is different to what was initially reported. TMW explain that while Kean has not fully impressed, Maximiliano Allegri does not have doubts as yet.
That’s because his recent performance against Empoli ‘gave the impression’ that he could be an ideal partner for Vlahovic moving forwards, particularly as he is comfortable on the wings and willing to play there.
He’s certainly more comfortable than Alvaro Morata, who Juventus can also get permanently at the end of the season but ‘have no intention of redeeming’ at this point.
While that deal can be negotiated with Atletico Madrid, the money ‘must be paid’ to Everton for Kean, an ‘an investment they cannot escape’.
Thus, if the good relationship with Vlahovic can be built on the idea to buy him early would come ‘naturally’. As TMW say, why barter for a deal on Morata when they can simply pay for Kean, who is more ‘valued’ anyway.
That’s an idea the club will sit and think about in the coming weeks, but either way, Everton could be set for a €28m windfall a year early, something they’ll certainly be happy about.
