Luka Jović’s return to Eintracht Frankfurt on loan has seen reports suggesting Real Madrid must sign a striker in January as Los Blancos only have Karim Benzema and Mariano.
Alexandre Lacazette has been named as a target and the Arsenal player is also liked by Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone.
Olivier Giroud has also been linked to Los Blancos and according to Defensa Central, the Chelsea striker can be a ‘short-term solution’ for the La Liga winners.
The France international’s contract expires in the summer and it’s stated the Blues are willing to let him leave in the winter market, taking advantage of his recent good form. The ex-Arsenal man is also ‘crazy’ to leave Frank Lampard’s side.
However, Zinedine Zidane said ‘no’ and in addition to this, the 34-year-old’s signing doesn’t fit their transfer policy. Hence, the report states Real Madrid have replied saying they’re not interested in Giroud.
Defensa Central also add the frontman is the subject of ‘strong interest’ from Juventus in the last few hours.
Giroud has netted nine times in all competitions for Lampard’s side this season.
