Last summer, Wolverhampton Wanderers took Francisco Trincão on loan from Barcelona and have an option to buy him for €30m after the end of the current season.
Jorge Mendes, the 22-year-old’s representative, orchestrated this deal and the agent was involved in January, to take Wolves’ Adama Traoré to the Camp Nou on a temporary deal. The La Liga side also have an option to make the winger’s stay permanent for €30m.
Trincão managed only two goals and an assist in 24 matches in all competitions for Bruno Lage’s side.
The Portuguese’s performances have reportedly not convinced the Premier League side and last week, Mundo Deportivo reported that Wolves are not planning to retain him beyond this campaign.
Barcelona, for their part, have not closed the door on this exchange operation.
That is because their president Joan Laporta, admitted a swap deal involving Trincão and Traoré is an “interesting” option.
“It is an option to consider. We are delighted with Adama, he has imprinted a spirit of maximum competitiveness,” Laporta told RAC1, relayed by Sport.
