As we’ve said many times at Sport Witness, when an Italian leaves Serie A there are usually rumours about a return every window until he eventually relents.
That’s been the case with Patrick Cutrone, despite him only moving to Wolves in the summer transfer window. Keen on a stay at AC Milan, which is very much the club of his heart, a shocked looking Cutrone was packed off to England after an offer from Milan was accepted.
He hasn’t managed to force his way into Nuno Espirito Santo’s team as often as he may have liked, but there’s plenty of time ahead for things to change.
That’s if he doesn’t return to Italy.
Corriere dello Sport report interest from Fiorentina ‘doesn’t fade at all’, and the player is presented as potentially keen.
The 21 year old is said to be filled with a ‘mad desire’ to prove himself, and prove that he’s mature enough to return to Serie A and really make a difference for a club. It’s even stated he could catch Roberto Mancini’s attention and get an Italy call-up for Euro 2020.
The structure of a potential Fiorentina deal isn’t mentioned, and it’s likely Wolves would be offered a loan, which may not be enough to convince the club to part ways with the youngster so quickly.
