It appears that Steven Gerrard’s influence on Rangers and their form during his second season in charge at Ibrox is likely to cause the club some problems in the summer.

By that we mean on the transfer market, because while there is already a lot of interest in Borna Barišić, there is also likely to be some in Ianis Hagi.

While the player isn’t technically Rangers’, they do have an option to buy, and considering how the Romania international has started his time at the club on loan from KRC Genk, the likelihood of the €6m being spent remains high.

And yet, should that happen, his future at Ibrox isn’t certain, as other clubs are circling, like Lazio.

The news that started in Italy has gone to Romania and back, and it seems Il Tempo wanted to add their little bit of information on Wednesday.

They explain Lazio were already looking at the Rangers loanee back in autumn of 2019, and while his loan to Ibrox has changed things, there is also the possibility of Steven Gerrard and co. make the move permanent and then look to sell him for a profit elsewhere.

And with that in mind, the Serie A club are ‘sitting tight’ and waiting to see what the Scottish Premiership club wants to do with their new starlet.
