Manuel Lazzari has made two starts since the start of November and is finding it hard to get into Maurizio Sarri’s plans at Lazio this season.
Last Thursday, La Repubblica reported the player, who can operate at right-back, wingback or right midfield, is ‘tempting’ Tottenham Hotspur. It was also explained the 28-year-old can be the right fit for Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 formation.
The north London club’s interest in the player is now discussed again by Il Messaggero. Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito has already announced the former Chelsea manager will sign a new deal with the Serie A side.
It’s claimed the ‘work is being done’ to release some players in the winter market. The Italian club’s idea is to allow Vedat Muriqi and Denis Vavro to leave on loan, but they need to sell ‘one valuable piece’ to bring in ‘more serious’ reinforcements.
This is where Lazzari fits in and Il Messaggero explain he ‘must be sold’. When talking about suitors, the report states both Spurs and Torino are after him.
Over at Corriere dello Sport, they also report Lazzari ‘can leave in January’, but don’t mention Conte’s side. These claims are relayed by Lazio News 24, who then say the former SPAL man has ‘interest of Torino, Bologna and Tottenham’.
