Leaving Arsenal on a free transfer at the end of the season, Mathieu Flamini’s profile could certainly be of interest to more than one team.
The 32-year-old defensive midfielder, who has travelled all around Europe throughout his career, will see his time in London once again come to an end after running down his contract, something he has done at every club he’s been at.
Never moving for an actual transfer fee, the former France international will probably take his time to consider his options, and a return to his home country will probably be an option.
La Gazette des Transferts in France suggest that both Bordeaux and his former team Marseille (which he left for Arsenal back in 2004) could be the ones to try and convince him to return across the Channel.
However, considering he is now settled in England, and the likelihood of a few Premier League clubs further down the table offering him a chance, it might take a lot to get him to hope on a Eurostar in the near future.
