Fabio Paratici was forced to leave his Tottenham Hotspur role earlier this year due to investigations and sanctions over inflated transfer values at Juventus.
The sporting director was key in multiple transfer and managerial decisions at Tottenham and would almost certainly still have been at Spurs if not for the drama in Italy.
He’s still having an impact on football, even if in more of a personal capacity, according to Il Secolo. They report he has a great relationship with Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani and has been ‘instrumental’ in the businessman’s decision to buy Sampdoria.
According to the report, the Leeds United owner had been keener on a much more difficult and costly move for Inter Milan, but Paratici managed to convince Radrizzani that the Genoa club was a better investment.
Radrizzani is now focused on selecting a new coach for Sampdoria, and Il Secolo state he’s keen on someone with English experience. Given his experience with Leeds United, it’s said the Italian values English football very highly.
That’s not a dealbreaker for a new coach, though, with multiple names already in the picture.
