Tottenham Hotspur have become the latest club to be credited with interest in Federico Gatti.

The centre-back was a regular for Juventus last season, making 32 league appearances.

Italian journalist Gianni Balzarini, relayed by Tutto Juve, reported about Tottenham’s interest in the 26-year-old on his YouTube channel.

He claims Spurs have carried out surveys for the Italy international, without making it clear if they contacted his camp, the Turin club or both.

Balzarini adds Juve technical director Cristiano Giuntoli is requesting a fee between €25m and €30m for the defender, who has a deal until 2028.

For now, Tottenham have only made contact. The journalist insists the deal to take the 26-year-old to the north London club could take shape this summer if they were to ‘accept the conditions’ proposed by the Serie A side.

In that event, Thiago Motta’s side will try to replace the defender with Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori.

On Wednesday, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Newcastle United could make an offer for Gatti shortly. It was also indicated Juve could sell him if there’s an offer of over €30m.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have shown interest in Calafiori, and Tuttosport said yesterday that they will challenge Arsenal to sign the 22-year-old Italian.
