According to claims in the Italian media, Juventus are interested in signing Manchester City’s Eliaquim Mangala.
With the Serie A champions recently selling Leonardo Bonucci to AC Milan they could be in the market for a central defender this summer.
TMW have reported contact has been made with intermediaries, with regards to the Manchester City defender moving to Turin this summer. The Frenchman looks surplus to requirements with the Premier League side, and last season was loaned out to Valencia.
It’s been suggested a deal will be complicated, but Juventus are hoping to land the Manchester City player on loan with a redemption clause.
Mangala has been determined to prove his worth to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, but his future at the Etihad is uncertain. In recent weeks the 26 year old has been linked with a move to Turkey, with Besiktas and Fenerbahce reported to be interested in the defender.
TMW say Manchester City are asking €20m for a permanent transfer.
If Mangala was assured a reasonable amount of game time, a switch to Juventus could help all involved. The defender was good for Valencia last season but the Spanish club’s seemingly eternal crisis scuppered a permanent deal, and gave the wrong impression about his impact.
