Benfica president Luis Felipe Vieira has been in London this week trying to drum up business. He’d previously travelled to China and it seems increasingly clear that Benfica are looking to sell a player, with several options.
A Bola claim on Saturday that Chelsea have joined the list of clubs interested in Nelson Semedo, which is handy given that Vieira flew to London.
It’s claimed that Chelsea have already been informed of the conditions to buy Semedo, with Benfica looking for €40m for the player, but this very much seems to be Benfica hawking him around, rather than Chelsea pursuing the player.
Semedo is a 23 year old right back, and he can also play at left back or even on the wing. He’s a talented footballer and it would be no surprise if Antonio Conte and Chelsea are aware of his talents, but the club haven’t been scouting Benfica as often as they once did.
This is an opportunity for Chelsea should they be genuinely interested, but Benfica are trying to drum up interest from other clubs too.
