Thomas Tuchel has told anyone who will listen about his worries for PSG’s squad. Turning close victories into near-miracles, and giving insistent excuses on any poor result, the manager has presented his players as being worn out.
They got to the Champions League final, which saw their season extended, however, given Ligue 1 decided to end early they didn’t have the extra league matches, which clubs like Manchester United had to contend with.
Earlier today, we covered a report from France which explained PSG’s 2-2 weekend draw with Bordeaux ‘confirmed’ the ‘poor physical condition’ of the squad. The situation was ‘not reassuring’ ahead of the Champions League match against Manchester United on Wednesday.
Keylor Navas, Marquinhos and Layvin Kurzawa, who had all been doubts to certain degrees, trained on Monday, and even Thilo Kehrer took part, which is considered something of a surprise.
The only injured players Tuchel now has, ahead of the match against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, are Julian Draxler and Juan Bernat.
