Earlier today we covered claims from Mundo Deportivo, who explained Chelsea aren’t very happy with the demands being made by those representing Andreas Christensen.
The defender’s contract expires at the end of the current season, and it was stated the player’s father, supported by new agents, is asking for a lump sump payment to secure the renewal.
Chelsea’s stance was said to be that the Denmark international isn’t a senior enough player to be presenting such demands to the Blues.
Another Catalan newspaper, Sport, now bring their own claims on a potential move to Barcelona.
They say there’s set to be an ‘imminent decision’ on the potential transfer, with negotiations ‘very advanced’ between Barcelona and the player’s camp.
According to Sport, they had been looking at only securing Christensen when his contract with Chelsea expires at the end of June, but it’s stated they’ll need to bring that forward should they wish to maintain ‘priority’ over the signing.
Everything is ‘practically agreed’ and it’s just a case of Barcelona going through with the contract and securing the signing.
Sport don’t make it completely clear whether they mean signing the Chelsea man on a pre-contract agreement, so him then moving in the summer, or making an attempt to take him to the Camp Nou in January.
