Joining Tottenham, Liverpool and surprise package Watford at the top of the table with three wins in three games, Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea have enjoyed what many would classify as a great start to the season.

While still trying to tweak a few issues here and there, the Italian has already successfully instilled the basics of his philosophy in the Stamford Bridge side, seen as a breath of fresh air after the last campaign under Antonio Conte.

Wanting to check out what all the fuss was about was Claudio Ranieri, who spent some of his free time this weekend watching some Premier League games, and is planning on doing so again next week, as he explained to Gazzetta dello Sport.

He said: “I’ll go watch Chelsea-Bournemouth on Saturday. Sarri has arrived with the positive attitude in the Blues’ environment”.

Helping the new manager settle in at Stamford Bridge is Gianfranco Zola, whom Claudio Ranieri managed during his stint as the club’s manager between 2000-04.

On his former player’s new role, Ranieri said: “Zola is a serious person, and it’s only right for someone like him to work at Chelsea”.

As for who the former Leicester City manager feels will be battling for the Premier League title come the end of the season, he revealed: “I think the battle will be more open. Chelsea can be the third wheel [alongside Manchester City and Liverpool]. I’m rooting for Sarri”.

We now know where his allegiances lie, if that wasn’t already obvious.
