Italy’s Calciomercato come with an exclusive claim on Tuesday regarding Middlesbrough and Felipe Caicedo.
It’s reported that around three weeks ago, before the transfer window closed on permanent deals, Middlesbrough made a €5m offer for the striker.
Lazio are said to have knocked this back, with the Italian club’s president Claudio Lotito asking for a €10m fee for the player. There’s no explanation of what Middlesbrough did when hearing the request, but it’s clear they didn’t agree to it at that stage.
He made 22 Serie A appearances last season, 18 of those as a substitute, and scored just three goals. On top of that there were three goals in nine Europa League outings.
Should Middlesbrough still be keen then it’s possible they could sign Caicedo on a loan agreement, with a commitment to make that permanent when the window reopens.
