Pedro Neto left Wolverhampton Wanderers and completed a permanent move to Chelsea in the summer window.
His last official appearance for Wolves was in their league win over Brighton & Hove Albion in February. The winger was forced to miss the end of last season due to an injury.
The 24-year-old arrived at Chelsea on August 11th, days before the start of the 2024/25 Premier League season. This meant the winger couldn’t have a pre-season with the Blues.
Since arriving at Chelsea, he’s clocked in 440 minutes from nine games, scoring two goals and registering an assist in the process. Pedro Neto got his name on the scoresheet in the west London club’s 4-2 win over KAA Gent on Thursday.
After the UEFA Conference League tie, the attacker spoke to DAZN in Portugal, relayed by O Jogo. The former Wolves man stated he’s working behind the scenes to reach his peak.
“I’m not at my best shape yet. I want to get there and I’m working hard to do so. I’ve had very little pre-season and I’ve always said that I’m going to work hard to reach my best moment and become a better player,” he said.
The Portugal international is of the belief he’s constantly improving at the London club.
“It’s been great, I’m learning a lot, I’m improving, I feel better and better, closer and closer to my level. It’s always unbelievable to score in front of these fans, who are so supportive. It was a great victory,” Pedro Neto explained.
His compatriot, Renato Veiga, arrived at Chelsea from FC Basel in the last window. The 21-year-old fullback also scored against Gent yesterday.
The Chelsea attacker remains hopeful of making it to the Portugal squad for the upcoming matches.
“Without a doubt [I hope], to end up with the icing on the cake,” he added.
