According to a claim in the Danish media, FC Copenhagen were showing an interest in Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yasin Ayari during the last transfer window.
Following loan spells with Blackburn Rovers and Coventry City in the past couple of seasons the 20-year-old has started to get game time in this campaign with the Seagulls.
Fotboll Direkt have reported on Copenhagen’s interest in the Brighton player and they say an attempt was made to sign the young Swede this summer. However, the Premier League side see a future for the central midfielder at the Amex stadium and rejected the Danish side’s approach.
It’s claimed Copenhagen also explored the possibility in signing his brother Taha Ayari, who is currently playing for Swedish side AIK. Again, the Danish giants were unsuccessful in convincing his club and since then the winger has been sidelined with an ACL injury.
Ayari has been involved in five of Brighton’s six Premier League games this season and started in the 0-0 draw with Ipswich Town. He’s contracted to the English side until June 2027.
