Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Goncalo Guedes has admitted he misses former club Valencia but does not regret his move to Molineux.
Guedes joined Wolves from the Spanish side in a €36m deal in August, bringing an end to a four year stay at the Mestalla after a move from PSG in 2018.
He had firmly established himself as a fan favourite at the club during that time, scoring 30 goals and registering 30 assists in 178 games in all competitions for the club.
He was regularly linked with a move to the Premier League through the years, with Wolves an obvious destination thanks to their Portuguese connections and links to super-agent Jorge Mendes.
He eventually made the move this summer but has had a difficult start to life at Molineux, with just one assist in eight appearances and 471 minutes of action this season.
“Of course, I miss Valencia, it was a place where I spent five years and I felt very happy and very well received from the beginning,” Las Provincias report him saying.
“People spoke very well of me and helped me a lot. But it was a decision I had to make, I made it and I’m happy with the decision.
“I hope everything goes very well for Valencia; I watch the games. I hope they do very well and achieve their objectives.
“I have many friends in Valencia, many teammates, I hope everything goes well for them.”
