As Tottenham Hotspur attacker Lucas Moura was this week interviewed by Ouest France, there was a very specific question for him to pick his favourite from one of two players.
The outlet wanted to know if the 30-year-old would rather have Brazil forward Neymar or Spurs’ teammate Harry Kane by his side.
Lucas Moura tried to sit on the fence a little, claiming the Paris Saint Germain and Tottenham players are two different kinds of footballers.
“I think they are different positions. I think Harry Kane is more of a born centre-forward, that number 9 shirt, who also has a lot of quality to make a number 10. Who manages to set up the team too, who can go down to receive the ball and set up the team. So much so that he was top scorer and assists leader next-to-last season. So he has a lot of quality,” Lucas Moura told Ouest France.
Then to avoid leaving the question without an answer, he went for the Brazilian.
“But I think I’ll stay with our friend, our compatriot Neymar, who is Brazilian, the same language, the same idiom, we understand each other, play truco together. So if I could choose, not to be on the fence, I would choose him.”
As Lucas Moura continues to give several interviews, the player also worries about the lack of playing time he’s been having this season. In the first couple of fixtures in the Premier League, he was only used in the final minutes, and after spending two matches without being called by Antonio Conte, he ended up getting injured and is now spending an entire month on the sidelines.
The player had already been linked with a departure away from Tottenham this summer, and in case he continues to fail to show he can be useful for the club, then he’ll certainly be on his way out soon.
