In recent weeks Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata has been linked with a move to Olympiacos. The Belgium international’s contract with Celtic will expire in the summer, with the Greek giants reportedly showing an interest .

The defender was recently spotted at a restaurant in Glyfada, a coastal resort in Athens, along with Omar Elabdellaoui, who he spent time with at Manchester City. Given the Norway international is an Olympiacos player, it encouraged the rumour to rise in Greece.

However, Sdna.Gr say Olympiacos had no idea about the trip and the club have played down reports of interest in the Celtic player. There it’s expected he’s moving to Hertha Berlin this summer, as had been reported in Germany.

Despite his contract situation Boyata has continued to be selected by Neil Lennon after the departure of Brendan Rodgers in February. However, a knee injury has ruled the central defender out of Celtic’s last two league games.

The Belgian defender has made 32 appearances for the Scottish champions this season and scored one goal.
