As the Brazilian media continues to report Arsenal’s interest in Atlético Mineiro youngster Sávio, it seems the player’s staff also doesn’t mind responding to the rumours.

When the claims first came out, Radio Itatiaia asked his agent Juliano Rodrigues about the chase from the Gunners and Red Bull Bragantino, leading to the representative talking about the interest without naming the London side, saying there was nothing official.

Outlet Super Esportes then decided to reach out themselves and make similar contact, but this time, it was the official who mentioned Arsenal in the conversation.

“There are these surveys from Bragantino and Arsenal, but nothing official. No proposal has come for Sávio. Other clubs in Brazil and Europe have also shown interest, but nothing official yet,” Juliano Rodrigues told Super Esportes.

Savio only made 21 appearances for Atletico in 2021, most of them coming out of the bench. Now the player’s staff makes it clear that he’s looking to get more minutes this season, and keep sending a message to the club about it.

“Going out on loan now is not interesting. The ideal is to leave permanently.”

The winger is protected by a release clause worth €40m, and previous reports from Brazil claimed that Red Bull Bragantino already had a €5m bid turned down, meaning the Gunners will need more if they are to sign the youngster.
