Everton striker Cenk Tosun has spoken to Bein Sports Turkey and revealed he wants to fight for a future with the Merseyside club.
The Turkish international returned to Goodison Park after his loan contract with Crystal Palace was terminated early because of a serious knee injury.
Speaking about his future plans, as covered by Sporx, Tosun said he’s focusing on returning stronger and he’ll be ready to impress Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti when he comes back: “My primary aim right now is to return stronger from injury. I’ve had a serious injury, so I have to be careful.
“I will be ready to fight for my spot at Everton when I come back. I want to play as much as I can. Next summer, we will have Euro 2021 and I’ll also consider this when making a decision.”
Tosun said he’s now working with Everton’s physios to strengthen his knee, and is getting better every day. However, the 28 year old stated he still needs ‘significant time’ to get back to 100% fitness.
Last week the Turkey international spoke to his home country’s media and said he wants to remain in the Premier League, after being linked with a move to back to the Super Lig.
During the last transfer window there were claims he was being chased by major clubs from Turkey, but he instead joined Crystal Palace on loan.
