The Portuguese media today highlights the quotes from Manchester United full-back Alex Telles pointing out he’d like to return to FC Porto one day.
The player’s statements were made in an interview with Wibcast podcast, where he talked about the ‘love story’ he has with Porto.
“I’m eternally grateful to the club and of course one day I think about going back there and continuing this cycle,” Alex Telles told Wibcast (via Notícias ao Minuto).
“It was a very happy period in my life. FC Porto is a love story. Of the clubs I’ve played, it’s the one with I most identified with, it was four years there. I didn’t just identify with the club, I identified with the city and made many friends. I still have friends there.”
Alex Telles joined Porto on a move from Galatasaray in 2016, and stayed in Portugal until the summer of 2020.
There he won two league trophies, becoming one of the Dragons’ main stars at the time.
Since joining Manchester United on a €15m deal in 2020, Telles continues his fight to win his first titles for the Red Devils.
The fullback, who’s in a constant battle with Luke Shaw to earn a place in the starting team, has 19 appearances for the Old Trafford side this season.
We now wonder how long it will take until he actually decides it’s time to leave Manchester United and move back to Porto.
