César Azpilicueta is going nowhere, at least according to one of his friends, Mikel San José.
The Athletic Bilbao player, who spent some time with the Chelsea fullback during the Euros, said his mate shouldn’t be leaving England so soon.
In an interview with Marca, San José said: “I keep seeing Azpilicueta at Chelsea.
“With the Euro, it seemed that everyone wanted him. We talked at lot. I know him, and however, I see him wearing blue.”
This will go as a blow for the Athletic Bilbao fans who hope of seeing Azpilicueta at the club next season. The rumours regarding a move were dragged for a few months, in a deal which would cost the Spanish side around €15m, according to the Spanish media.
There was also speculation saying Azpilicueta would join José Mourinho at Manchester United, which never seemed too likely after all.
